6 Settings that make your Gmail better

Gmail is the primary email service used by most of the people. Even Gmail offers bunch of cool new features they are some which are hidden and even toggled off initially. Let's go, check them out.


Label Notifications in Android

We all familiar with Gmail labels, Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates and Forums which you have to enable them from settings in both desktop and Android. Then here is a mess, they just appear and they doesn't give notification when there is a new email.

To turn on Label notifications in Android,
In account settings then, manage labels go to labels which you have to enable.

Conversation view

The only mess with Gmail is grouping emails serially, mixing sent mail and inbox emails by repetitive Forward and Reply emails. You can simply toggle them off both in any plat form.

This available in General in Gmail Desktop settings.

Links opening in Gmail Android

It is annoying thing in the Gmail for Android, Links open in App itself other than in Browser.
It's Personal Preference, you can toggle on or off in general settings.

Smart Compose Emails

Snoozing Emails

Snoozing emails is also handy feature especially you are using in Desktop, as snoozing is available in Android notifications system wide. It enables a email to receive after sometime for now. If you check the email there after you can remember the task you scheduled.

Star Labels

You can choose from following star labels to customize the set of emails,

This option is available in same General settings in Desktop.

Add-ons

You can even add Third party add-ons to your gmail account to organize your stuff. Remember for that you are giving access of your account for them. You can access them from Add-ons Section in Desktop. Currently most features are available for G-Suite users and it haven't launched in Android yet.

Achieving

Everybody aware of option called Archiving but everybody knows it hiding the email from inbox or particular label. It's a handy feature to move useful feature to move unnecessary emails from labels to All Mail. If you accidentally archived it, you can undo in a few seconds. Archived emails can searchable through search box in both the platforms.

I Tried Disabling Digital Wellbeing

Several reports about pixel phones crashing because of the Digital Wellbeing Application, i tried to disabling it too. I haven't seen a drastic change after all. The only difference between them and my Nokia 6.1 was only additional security chip. Pixels are powered by Titan M Encryption chip with usual main CPU and GPU's. But the meant to provide additional AI, Image processing and RAM Management. May be it is a software glitch without proper optimization. [Updated] Google Chrome 74 finally here with Dark Mode for Windows 10

Google Chrome 73 released a week  ago supposed to have dark mode for all platforms but given to only MacOs. Now Chrome 74 rolled out started with unfinished dark mode to market. Let's see how to get it.... Google rolled out the dark mode for limited number of users as they stated. But with some tweaks you can still get dark mode. First ensure that you are running Windows 10 v1809 aka October 2018 update and with dark as default app mode. Update the Google Chrome to latest version by navigating to 3 dot menu > Help > About Google Chrome. In case you already got the dark mode, you are lucky to go. If that doesn't give any result, keep scrolling. Search Google Chrome in the Windows Search and find the Application, Right Click on it and click on open file location.
